The 71st Venice International Film Festival will be held from 27 August to 6 September at the Lido of Venice, organized by the Biennale di Venezia, chaired by Paolo Baratta and directed by Alberto Barbera link. Alexander Despalt, the internationally renowned French Film composer, will be the president of the International Jury. It is the first time a film composer chairs the Jury of the Venice Film Festival.
Italian actress Luisa Ranieri will be the host of the opening and closing events of the 71st Venice International Film Festival. She will open the Festival on the evening of Wednesday August 27th, on the stage of Sala Grande at the “Palazzo del Cinema” on the Lido and on September 6th, she will host the closing ceremony during which the winners of the “Lions” and the other official awards will be announced.
